Reflexology Training
There are many schools and colleges offering courses for Reflexology training, but how do you know which one to go to? What level of training will you receive, will your qualification be widely recognised by all employers, including the UK government and the NHS?
Jubilee College is particularly proud to be one of the few colleges to be fully accredited by Centralia, and delivers their level 5 course, accepted by the Association of Reflexologists (AoR), the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and Professional Reflexology (PR). The AoR and PR are the two most well known, and highly respected professional Reflexology organisations in the UK. They have Government recognition, are members of the Reflexology in Europe Network, and are members of the Reflexology Forum. Both member organisations offer exceptional insurance cover, regional support groups, an internationally recognised journal, advice and information services, promotional literature and activities, research initiatives and an ongoing educational programme. The FHT is the largest multi-disciplinary holistic association in the United Kingdom and also offers much in support of its member therapists.
As a graduate of Jubilee College, you will be able to register with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) - the UK's complementary health register, and become a member of any of the above organisations (without the need for any upgrading). Lastly, all graduates of Jubilee College are allowed to use the initials GJC (Dip. Reflex) after their name.
Training takes the form of the following modules:
- Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology
- Business Skills
- Reflexology for Practitioners
- Incremental Development of Reflexology Skills in Practice
- Providing Reflexology for Specific Conditions
These modules are studied as a cohesive whole, across one academic year. Teaching in this way, encourages the inter-relation of learning, making more sense than studying everything as seperate stand-alone qualifications. We do understand that people work at different speeds, and so we will endeavour to support students if extra time is needed.
During your course, you will undertake 100 case study treatments, four assessments of your practical skills (client studies) and there will be homework to do in your own time. The good news is, that there is no end of term exam - you will build a portfolio of work throughout the course, and upon successful completion of this (and your practical assessments), you will then qualify as a professional Reflexologist.
Class sizes are kept small to guarantee individual tuition, so to avoid disappointment, early booking is recommended. To see what training is like at Jubilee College, click here to have a look at our photo gallery. To book a course, please scroll to the bottom of this page.
