The Mind / Body Link by Vicki Pittman
Jubilee College is "over the moon" to announce that Vicki Pittman, author of 'Reflexology, A Practical Approach' is coming to Nottingham to deliver a special one day CPD seminar on the Mind/Body link.
Vicki will be 'unpacking' the research done by scientists looking at the physiology of mind-body interactions. The seminar will explore the implications for reflexology and relate this to practical techniques.
Not so long ago, research published by Candace Pert et al regarding the Hypothalamus - Pituitary - Adrenal (HPA) axis and the fact that receptors are found in many parts of the body, not just the brain, helped revolutionise medical science's understanding of the endocrine and immune system physiology. Amazingly it is standard medical physiology nowadays!
Vicki will teach you:
- How this and other whole body models can be utilised by Reflexologists
- How understanding the HPA axis can help treating clients with depression and anxiety
- How to use the new scientific data to relate to the reflexes on the feet
- An introduction to simple Ayurvedic techniques
- To take your Reflexology treatments to a new level
This day is a combination of theory and practical 'hands-on' techniques that promises to radicalise your understanding of how the body responds to Reflexology treatments.
This seminar is a 'one-off' chance to be trained in person by Vicki Pittman. We strongly encourage early bookings as places are limited and we know this event will be highly popular with experienced and new Reflexologists alike.
